Thursday was a sad sad record for the United States.

Note how many of the worst states are GOP controlled.

This didn't have to happen. It wouldn't have happened if we'd had national leadership that put human lives ahead of personal political concerns. It wouldn't have happened if so many Republican governors hadn't acted as a Trumpist cult followers and rushed to throw open states without regard for public health consequences.

We were and are utterly without leadership and every single person will suffer as a result.

Please do something to change this in November.

Strong, coherent, and consistent messaging from the start - regarding handwashing, wearing masks, social distancing and staying home - would have prevented countless amounts of suffering and death.

Trump failed on every level.

I hope this story makes at least one person think twice right now. We need new leadership as fast as we can get it.

18 trans women murdered this year alone. 91% of trans women killed last year were black. This is not okay. We need a grand, fundamental reform of the racist, transphobia-ridden system we live in.

@marissa Same here. We have to vote to protect all the people who would be hurt the most by four more years of trumpism.

@TonyStark

I'm just waiting for January 20, 2021 when one particular person is added to the unemployment list.

Batman :verified: boosted

The economy didn’t “add” jobs or create 4.8 million “new additional” positions. People went back to work to jobs that were put on hold when coronavirus struck.

Here’s a real world example:

Two close friends returned to work. One is a chef, the other is a sales rep. The chef’s job was reduced from full-time, having a set salary, to part-time-hourly. His was a Catch-22 situation. If he turned down his old job, he would have lost unemployment benefits. 1/3

So he returned to work at 32 hours per week at an hourly rate making 60% of his previous full-time salary with the only positive aspect being his health insurance benefits are safe.

The sales person works on straight commission in a business that depends heavily on retail and entertainment. Another Catch-22 callback. She's making 55% of her previous income.

When we read the numbers, it’s best to consider not the headline or summary, but the details.  We’re far from being “back to normal.” 2/3

And how many are now back in the unemployment line due to Trump and the GOP governors opening up the economy too early?

The economy did not ADD jobs, it RESTORED SOME jobs.

If Trump had taken this seriously from the beginning, we would be on the road to recovery.  Instead he played GOLF and said it would go away. We are setting records with new cases. He tanked the country single-handedly.  Trump is the problem

Joe is the answer.

Vote for Joe Biden. 3/3

so, like a gambler saying, "I won $1000 at the casino today" after they lost $10,000 yesterday and hoping nobody will notice.

"Hey, I lost a $1 in change and I've found 23 cents of it. You thought I was only going to find 18 cents. I am so happy that my 23 cents is just like having that full whole dollar!

(Literally how Trump sounds right now).

I see a lot of posts about various people claiming their First Amendment rights are being violated, but this is a real violation coming straight from the Trump administration and it also chips at the separation of powers.

Americans are still suffering the effects of Trump's horrible and continuingly horrible COVID19 response and still need this help and more.

Republicans are busy trying to end it.

More than just rent and mortgages need suspended with 20+% unemployment, but even this is a start. Throwing people into the streets right now would constitute an act of stupidity and insanity that ought to be considered intentionally criminal.
