**Biden: "We Already Have Significant Representation of Progressives in Our Administration"**
Nina Bluket (1902 - 1978) is known for being a key player in the rise of the Russian chess movement, and her memior recounts embarring men at tournaments in the 1920s. She played in coed national tournaments in the 1930s, and she was a member of the all-union chess leadership committee in the 1940s.
In the US, by the way, the earliest reference I could find to a woman playing in a national men's tournament was 1986.

Yes, Accept the Flaws of Election and Epidemic Models
Poll wonks and epidemiologists need to be more transparent. And we need to stop being suckers.
"Models of epidemics are often imprecise, because they take on the unrealistic burden of trying to capture all of the complexity of an epidemic, which is impossible. "

I say this because you can almost always trick right wingers into outing themselves as a racist by asking simple questions like "why is poverty more common amongst POC?"
There is only one acceptable, broad answer to this, and it centers on structural factors related to racism and capitalism.
Right wingers intuitively know they can't admit this and most of them will immediately start harping about cultures and individuals--and when they do, you've now cornered them.
