Hello, everyone. There are two issues for which I am trying to raise awareness and I hope you will help me spread the word:
1. Many states are allowing no-excuse absentee ballots. If you live in one of these states, please do the following if you haven't.
a. Request your no-excuse absentee ballot now! That should ensure that your ballot will go out as soon as the state starts sending them. This is the best way to keep everyone safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. 1/3
b. Fill out your ballot and return it IMMEDIATELY! You can put it right back in the mail the same day or you can deliver it in-person to your local election office. Do not wait!
c. If you live in one of the few states that does not allow no-excuse absentee ballots (like Texas), you still have options for early in-person voting. Find out when you can show up for early voting and do it! Follow guidelines for social distancing, take hand sanitizer, and wear a mask. https://www.vote411.org 2/3
2. Second, with all of the absentee ballots flooding into polling precincts combined with personnel shortages due to coronavirus, we will need more poll workers than ever to count them quickly.
The fate of the election (and the country) might rest on the speed with which poll workers can count the ballots and they must be counted accurately. By voting early, you can volunteer to be a poll worker on Election Day. If you vote early, you can volunteer easier. https://www.eac.gov/voters/become-poll-worker 3/3
@TonyStark Even if you plan to vote in person, it's wise to request an absentee ballot and have it ready to send or hand-deliver as your state allows. You don't want to be caught unprepared.
