The fact that nothing was done for suffering Americans prior to this is disgusting. And yet many Americans voted for some of these very people who don't give a damn about their suffering. It's totally confounding.

The Republican-controllled Senate could just PASS THE HEROES ACT WHICH CLEARED THE HOUSE IN MAY. They could have done it at any point before now and help would be there.

Group of senators prepares $908 billion stimulus plan, aiming to break partisan logjam:

@TonyStark A friend of mine was talking about how wrong I was about the blue wave happening. Part of the reason is exactly this, buddy. Who would have imagined so many people voting against their own interests? It makes no damn sense.

@Vision

This plan gives corporations millions of dollars in protections from Covid-related liability for the low price of just $300/week for 4 weeks for unemployed Americans. Once again, Greed Over People.

Democrats are fighting for $600 supplemental to state unemployment for the duration.

Something will probably get passed because Democrats do care and Republican will try and take credit. Eyes on the media coverage.

@TonyStark @Vision And there you have it. The real problem is McConnell. He has consistently refused to consider bills without companies and wants relief money short and low. Corporations first, people last.

@TonyStark @Vision This article by Bill Moyers from 1988 is still pretty relevant.

1. It goes into the moment when LBJ said the famous quote: "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."
2. It talks about Reagan, while debating Mondale, taking credit for Great Society programs.

@TonyStark @Vision There are certainly problems with LBJ's terminology today, and he wasn't exactly speaking from a place of enlightenment, but he wasn't wrong in his main point, as we keep seeing over and over again.
